Why soft washing instead of pressure washing

If you live in Central Florida, you already know what happens to the outside of your house. Within a year, the north-facing walls pick up green algae. The stucco turns gray-brown. Dark streaks form under the eaves. The whole place starts looking ten years older than it is. That's not dirt you can hose off. It's a living colony of algae, mold, and mildew that's rooted itself into your siding.

Soft washing solves this. Instead of blasting surfaces with 3,000 PSI of water, which would gouge stucco, strip paint, and force water behind siding, our team applies a contractor-grade surfactant solution at low pressure. The solution penetrates the organic growth and kills it at the cellular level. Within minutes, years of buildup begin to loosen and lift. We then rinse the surface clean with gentle, low-pressure water.

How the process works

This method is approved by ARMA, the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association, and is the only cleaning method recommended by most siding and roofing manufacturers. High-pressure washing may look effective in the moment, but it only removes the surface layer of growth. The roots remain embedded in the material. Within weeks, the algae and mildew grow back. Soft washing eliminates the organism entirely, which is why results last three to four times longer than a standard pressure rinse.

Our team uses this method on stucco homes, vinyl siding, Hardie board, painted wood, EIFS, and brick. We also soft wash fences, pergolas, outdoor kitchens, and any other surface where high pressure would cause damage. The solution we use is biodegradable and safe for surrounding landscaping when applied correctly. We pre-soak all nearby plants before we start and rinse them thoroughly when we finish.
